Pond Pumps

If you need to move water in a pond, whether it is for a fountain, a waterfall or a filter you will need a pump.

As all these functions require different pump characteristics it is necessary to have pumps with different characteristics.

Fountain Pumps need to be stable and be able to operate efficiently for long periods without the need for regular maintenance. However they have to pump semi clean water to avoid blocking the fountain jet.

Waterfall pumps need to be able to pump large volumes of water efficiently. This water however does not need to be free of solids.

Filter Pumps need to be able to operate for long periods of time without blocking, they also need to be able to pass solids to the filter to enable them to be removed from the pond. As they are part of the life support system for the pond they need to be very reliable.

Hozelock Cyprio produce four different types of pump, each serving a different purpose; each able to more closely match your needs.

Cascade Range (450-7000 litres per hour maximum flow) – The all purpose pump that is able to run a fountain and/or a waterfall. These pumps feature an anti clog system to reduce pump maintenance.

EasyClear Range (For ponds up to 4000 litres) – 4 ‘n 1 Clearwater Fountain and Waterfall Pump Fully integrated unit containing a filter, ultra-violet clarifier and pump that is positioned in the pond. Guarantees the clear and healthy water and an attractive reliable fountain display.

Titan Range (2000-15000 litres per hour maximum flow) – A waterfall and filter pump that has been designed to pump solids up to 10mm in size into a filter. These pumps feature a wildlife protection system to prevent aquatic animals being drawn into the pump (e.g. Frogs). These pumps are not suitable for fountains.

Prima XL Range (3200-15000 litres per hour maximum flow) – A range of high power waterfall and filter pumps designed to pump solids up to 10mm into a filter.

Cascade
Hozelock Cyprio manufactures fountain and waterfall pumps in both mains and low voltage.
When mains electricity is used in the garden care must be taken to ensure that the installation is safe. (See pond safety page for more information). However if Low Voltage is used the 24v cable does not need to be protected. Low Voltage pumps use a 24v supply from a mains transformer and as low voltage connections require no tools, installation is a straightforward inexpensive task. No extra cable protection is needed. The cable can be extended up to 50m. Our low voltage pumps have identical performance to their mains cousins.

Cascade pumps have dual flow control to allow the waterfall and fountain flows to be independently adjusted and come with a telescopic extension pipe, giving an overall pump height of between 30 and 50cm on top of which can be placed your fountain jet.

More Reliability
All Cascade pumps are unique in using TRF (Thermal Resettable Fuse) to prevent motor damage. Most Cascade pumps have a thick ceramic shaft and bearings for extra reliability. Due to the anti clog system most Cascade pumps feature greatly extended cleaning intervals.

EasyClear™
The EasyClear™ is a fully integrated unit that is positioned in the pond and guarantees the end user everything they want in terms of beautiful, clear and healthy water and an attractive and reliable fountain display. It has a 2 in 1 action. 1. CLEAR AND HEALTHY WATER – The filter sieves out solids making the water less cloudy and therefore healthier for fish and plants. The ultra violet clarifier elimiates green water. 2. FOUNTAIN – The fountain creates a decorative display with a choice of three fountain heads.

New for 2006, the EasyClear™ Clearwater, Fountainand Waterfall Pump

The complete all-in-one unit containing a UVC, filter and pump to create a clear and healthy pond withan attractive fountain and waterfall.
Building on the success of the unique and award winning EasyClear™ Clearwater and Fountain Pump, which was launched in 2005, this new model combines with it to develop a brand new, rapidly growing market sector. These products are targeted at consumers looking for a single easy-to-install product that meets all their fountain, waterfall and clear water requirements. The new EasyClear™ Clearwater, Fountainand Waterfall Pump incorporates all the features of its smaller counterpart but in addition it is capable of running a waterfall. With integrated UVC, mechanical filter and biological filter it is suitable for medium sized ponds with up to 4000 litrescapacity. It can create a fountain, waterfall or acombination of both with easily accessible twin flow controls to adjust the size of the fountain and waterfall independently. A key selling point of the EasyClear™ is the fact that the whole unit is placed in the water so that there is no need for a filter system outside the pond, which can be difficult to disguise. The new larger EasyClear™ has the same foot print as the EasyClear™ Clearwater and Fountain Pump. It has a height of 370mm which can be easily hidden below the water surface in shallower ponds. For deeper ponds, fountain stem extensionsare available, avoiding the need to mount the new EasyClear™ on a platform. With an ability to run a waterfall the new EasyClear™ has a 4 in 1 action as opposed to the 3 in 1 filter and fountain action of the smaller product.

Titan Waterfall and Filter pumps
Waterfall and filter pumps need electricity to work. When mains electricity is used in the garden care must be taken to ensure that the installation is safe. (For more information please visit our Pond Safety pages).

Titan pumps are designed to pump water containing solid material to a filter or a waterfall. The cage is specially designed to prevent it clogging by providing the maximum surface area.

All Titan pumps feature a wildlife protection system (WPS) so that in spring when the fish fry and tadpoles are present in the pond, it is possible to close the inlet cage down to as little as 2mm.

The outlet of the pump has a ball joint to make hose attachment even easier.

When using a pump to power a filter system reliability is essential. That is why all Titan pumps key features provide total reassurance.

1. All Titan pumps have a thermal resettable fuse that prevents motor damage.

2. All Titan pumps have ceramic shafts and bearings to minimise wear.
(The ceramic that we use is almost as hard as diamond).

Prima XL
Prima XL filter pumps are high pressure solids handling pumps designed specifically to pass large solids without blocking from the pond to the filter, or to run large waterfalls.
